UAB Students, Faculty, Alumni and Fans,

Although we may have lost the initial battle to save UAB Football, we are not quitting.

We are re-purposing the site to achieve three primary goals:

1. Make changes to the UAB administration that will foster honest and good-faith communications with students, faculty, alumni and other UAB stakeholders and prevent future backroom decisions that adversely affect the University community and all of Birmingham.

We are for Birmingham. And we are for UAB.

The past few years have seen amazing progress in Birmingham. As the economy has rebounded, private and public investments have helped reshape our city and grow our economy.

Railroad Park and the new home for the Barons at Regions Field are only two of the many examples of how Birmingham is changing and growing. The rest of the country has taken notice of our renaissance, praising Birmingham’s food and restaurant scene, our nightlife, and countless other positive aspects of our great city. In just the past year, stories in The New York Times, Forbes, USA TODAY and others have promoted Birmingham as a great place to live, to visit and to do business.

UAB Students, Faculty, Alumni and Supporters:

As of Friday afternoon, the UAB Football Foundation has decided to pause the campaign to collect season ticket deposits for the 2016 season based on concerns expressed by President Watts and UAB administrators.

Our goal was to make a statement about the commitment to UAB football from the Birmingham community. After receiving over 4,300 season ticket commitments in less than two days, I would say that statement has been heard loud and clear. With little more than word of mouth and posts on social media, the message spread and you responded. Imagine what we can do with UAB’s commitment to restore your football team, months to prepare, and the marketing resources of UAB behind us.
